Short Game - Chipping (The low chip and run shot)

Tips - Club: 7 to 9 iron.

The Set Up.

First the grip is very light with little pressure and the Vs of the thumbs pointing just about to the right of your chin.

Your left wrist should be straight and aligned straight down the shaft of the club, The right wrist angled backwards.

Your feet should be slightly narrower than shoulder width and aligned open to target line, with the shoulders square on in line with the target.

Weight on the left foot , hands ahead of ball which is in a central position, with a square delofted club face.

The Shot.

The shoulders arms hands & club all move toghether as one smooth action with no weight transfer on the backswing.

The wrists remain inactive with no wrist cocking just staying with the left wrist straight and the right wrist bent backwards.

On the forward swing do not transfer any weight, let your shoulders, arms and club all move together through the contact with the ball.

In the follow through there is still no weight transfer, the weight should still be on the left foot.

The movement other than the obvious swinging of the club is the right knee turning in towards the left on the follow through, and a half turn of the chest.
