1.) Fairway Woods:
As mentioned for the iron shots the ball position is an individual thing. But there are some guide lines depending on the individuals lateral weight transfer from the right foot to the left.
The only difference with the fairway wood is the ball should be positioned slightly more left of center. When using this club off the tee, Tee it up just enough to lift the ball off the grass then have the ball positioned just on the left heel this is because the ball is slightly of the ground the club head is going to strike the ball on the way up .
2.) Driver:
Every one has there own preferences as how to tee the ball up for a driver.
Assuming you use a large headed driver.
I like to see a little over half the ball showing above the face of the driver even for smaller headed clubs this is quite a good guide line.
As far as the ball position goes just move it slightly forward again to just inside the left heel to give the club time to swing through and again strike the ball on the way up.
As with the irons the important thing is to have your hands, arms and torso starting as a unit. As you take the club back the weight should be shifting to your right leg at the same time the left knee turns towards the right knee.
At the top of the swing you should have your back to the target and your hands fully cocked above your shoulders.
The extra point to make with the woods is to hold the back swing at the top with club horizontal and parallel with the target line.
As in the back swing the hands and arms start down as a unit. With the driver especially I like to start the down swing by planting my left heel more firmly and obviously on the ground with the weight shifting to the left foot. Also get the feeling as if you are pulling the club down from the top with your left hand this tends to
give you more power through the ball at impact.Hips turn through the target line, the hands and arms extend through the bottom of the swing.
Follow through finishing with the weight on your left foot, belt buckle, chest and your right knee facing the target.
Your right foot should be on the toes with all studs showing. Your hands should be above eye height ensuring the full swing.
